Memo from Airline Division Director Don Treichler to CAL TechniciansDecember 26, 2002
The ballot count on the revote of the new contract for Continental Technicians will begin at approximately 10:00 a.m. on December 27, 2002, and the results will be announced as soon as possible after the count is certified by Count Supervisor James DeHaan. Mr. DeHaan is a former Department of Labor official responsible for enforcing the federal standards applicable to Union elections and has previously overseen several other contract referenda. The ballot count will take place at Delancey Printing, 444 Swan Avenue, Alexandria, Virginia. Observers will be at Delancey at 9:30 a.m. and ballots will be collected from the post office by Count Supervisor Jim DeHaan at approximately 10:00 am. Mr DeHaan will be accompanied by at least one observer and observers will be allowed to observe the entire process. Once at Delancey Printing, the ballots will be sorted and eligibility will be checked. Delancey Printing will provide personnel to physically sort and count the ballots. The entire process will be supervised by Mr. DeHaan, who shall have ultimate authority to determine disputes regarding eligibility or voter intent. Following completion of the tally, the balloting materials will be secured and the results certified. Results will be posted as soon after certification of the count as practicable. |
